Saying Goodbye

Well, this morning we bid adieu to Nancy and Doug. They stayed with us for a few short days and got to know Barley a little better (that was the point of the trip, after all). It was fun to show the small-town couple all around the bustling DFW metroplex - we ate way too much, watched a few good movies, and had some great conversations.

Being married to Josh has allowed me to adopt a greater appreciation for family communication. It's just plain good for you to have people around who love and enjoy you - whether they're right beside you or on the other end of the phone. I love my own immediate family, we just don't get to see each other that much, and I'm not very good at picking up the phone. The twins (my younger bro and sis) can be a little better about it than me... We're still young, though. There's room for change. :-)
