12 weeks: All clear until January!

Well, we have the green light to breathe easy for now! Monday morning was our 2nd visit with my obstetrician. She did one more ultrasound and everything looks great! The baby is measuring right on time, and its heart rate was a strong 158 bpm.

So, as of now, she has no concerns for the immediate. She will continue to monitor me for signs of preterm labor or problems with uterine growth. Our next appointment will be in January, and by then we will probably be able to tell the baby's gender!!! (cast your vote before then!)

So far, pregnancy is treating me well, physically. My intermittent nausea is gone for the most part, and I'm feeling my daytime energy slowly improving. Josh and I can notice a little bit of belly growth, but it's nothing significant yet. I plan to take regular photos to compare the growth of my waistline (should I start a poll on that one, too?) - so here's the first of many...
