Summertime Smiles

Noa's 12-month visit was a success. She weighs 19.3 lbs and is just shy of 30 in. long. She now has four teeth (!) and an impressive vocabulary - although we're still not sure what language it's in.

A few weeks ago we went camping for the first time with the Babe. She did great and we all had a blast! Here she is hitching a ride with her Pops...

And Josh, dipping his feet in the glacial stream along one of our hiking paths. It was a bit nippy, he said.

It was tricky keeping the rocks out of her mouth, but thankfully, that was about as complicated as things got that weekend!

My Aunt and Uncle (Nancy and Bob) and cousin (Paige) from Dallas, and my parents (Nancy and George) from Laredo, flew in to CS for the 4th of July. We were all so pleased, but Noa was especially ecstatic to have so many people around.

A quick photo of us. Just us. :-)

Noa and Grandpa Hughes...

Noa and Great Aunt Nancy (it's so difficult to find things that Noa can enjoy - can you tell?)...

Noa and Paige (playing with flowers)...

Us girls having fun with Uncle Sam...

Before the fam left town, we drove up to Pike's Peak. It was quite an adventure, especially with 7 (make that 8 with the Noa in the car seat) people squeezed into one vehicle, one of whom was terribly acrophobic...

The view from the top. 14,110 ft. above sea level...

At the visitor's center at the Peak - Noa was grumpy, but we still had a good time. ;-)

All in all, it was an absolutely wonderful visit. We have been blessed and thankful to have family in town this summer! Until next time, we hope you all have a wonderful time.

Peace!

OMG! She is just beautiful! Her hair is just precious. Is that sweet girl walking yet? If so, you must get some vid up. :) P.S. You look so great too!

Thank you for the sweet, sweet compliments! No, she isn't walking on her own yet - she seems perfectly content to keep hold of at least one hand at all times. Given the one room at the back of our house that I'm still using to "sort" things, I'm not complaining... ;-)
