God is Looking For You

"At one wooden tree in the Garden of Eden, we fell for the lie that God didn't love us, and we fell away from God and got lost. And at one wooden cross near the Garden of Gethsemane, God found us and stretched out His arms and proved forever and always and no matter what that He loves us with and unconditional, unbeatable, unfailing, unwrappable love.
Sometimes you can almost feel it: when you fall, He comes and unwraps that lying, stealing snake from your feet and wraps His arms around you - and you unwrap the very greatest gift: a love that never, ever lets you go." - Day 3 of Advent with "Unwrapping the Greatest Gift" by Ann Voskamp

Trying this year to complete an Advent activity by sharing a devotional each day and giving the girls a paper ornament to color and pin upon our twiggy Jesse tree. Our hope is that this Christmas season sets a stage for our living out the rest of this year (and every year) with a faith that anchors our hearts in the midst of the storm. Our hope is that our children will know who their God is and know His immeasurable love for them. Our hope is that our children recognize that love in the people that pick them up when they fall, call themselves their family, and long with them for a peaceful eternity. Will you join me in hoping?
